Job Summary:
We are seeking a friendly and customer-oriented Retail Sales Associate and Barista to join our team. As a Retail Sales Associate and Barista at our Chocolate Factory Shop & Cafe, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, assisting customers with their chocolate purchases, and maintaining a clean and organized sales floor. Making espresso and chocolate drinks from scratch is a major part of the job.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Housekeeping: Wash dishes, equipment and tools per standard health requirements. Stash away clean dishes ready to use.
- Clean, wipe and maintain retail and café area, floor and all surfaces, including table, sinks, machines, tools and appurtenances to the highest hygiene standards possible.
- Purchase and stock up the café with all ingredients and drinking supplies ready to serve the customers in timely manner.
- Products and merchandise to be stocked up, ready to welcome customers for an amazing chocolate experience. Manage and update inventory and report status to Sales Manager.
- Store and organize incoming deliveries of ingredients and supplies.
- Set up outdoor seating area with all portable furniture in place, clean and free of debris. Wipe and sanitize all surfaces ready for customers prior to opening and during business hours in between customers.
- All team members are responsible to clean and sanitize bathroom regularly as scheduled.
- Hospitality: Front-of-the-house customer service. Face of Raphio Chocolate.
- Take orders directly from customers, over the phone, and online orders through various platforms.
- Create chocolate and espresso drinks with a consistent level of excellence and commitment to our high standards.
- Engage customers by offering samples and answer questions in a friendly manner, building a quick rapport by asking and remembering customers names and execute sales in timely and efficient fashion.
- Assisted with factory tour and tasting by providing samples, water cups and refill water for the guests to wash their palettes in between tasting.
- Administrative and Marketing: Assist Sales Manager to complete goals and objectives of the day and week, including fulfilment of online and wholesale orders, preparing for farmers markets and offsite events.
- Assist Sales Manager to check and respond to messages, make phone calls, send emails, follow up with wholesale account leads.
- Consistently work to identify ways to improve operating procedures, checklists, and documentation to streamline the processes, that lead to all-around improvements in production time and customers’ experience.
Secondary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist Production Manager and other production team members with labor-intensive chocolate making.
