Duties
- Greet guests with a friendly, positive attitude upon arrival and assist with seating arrangements to optimize flow and comfort
- Manage reservations using POS (Point of Sale) systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS to ensure accurate booking and waitlist management
- Answer incoming phone calls professionally, providing information about the menu, reservations, or special events while maintaining excellent phone etiquette
- Coordinate with servers and kitchen staff to communicate guest needs and seating availability effectively
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host stand area, ensuring a welcoming environment at all times
- Assist with guest inquiries, special requests, and accommodating seating preferences to enhance overall guest satisfaction
- Support food safety standards by adhering to proper hygiene practices when handling menus, reservation sheets, or guest belongings
Experience
- Previous experience as a host/hostess or in food service is highly preferred; strong customer service skills are essential
- Familiarity with restaurant POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS enhances efficiency in reservation management
- Proven ability to communicate clearly and professionally via phone and in person is vital for success in this role
- Experience in hospitality or guest relations roles demonstrates your ability to create memorable guest experiences
- Organizational skills are crucial for managing reservations, waitlists, and coordinating with team members effectively
