American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position at an acute care hospital in California, requiring a minimum of 2 years of L&D experience and AHA-certified ACLS/BLS.

Acute care hospital Labor & Delivery unit with 4 antepartum rooms, 9 labor/high-risk rooms, and 3 triage rooms
-
Patient population includes high-risk pregnancies, vaginal deliveries, and C-sections
-
Fetal heart monitoring and high-risk pregnancy monitoring performed regularly
-
Floating to postpartum (PP) for couplet care (maternal and newborn) required when staffing needs arise
-
Ability to perform the newborn role in delivery is a plus
-
Day shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
-
Every other weekend required
-
No on-call responsibilities

Charting via Epic (experience required)

13-week contract

Active CA RN license required; pending licenses not accepted

Required certifications (AHA): BLS, ACLS, NRP, and either AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring or NCC EFM; FHM also accepted

Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery RN experience required

Epic EMR experience required

At least 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting

Full SSN and DOB required for consideration

First-time travelers are not eligible for this position

RTO requests must be submitted at the time of initial consideration; minimal RTO is strongly preferred
-
Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel pay rates; candidates within 50 miles may be considered at a local rate
-
Former permanent employees of the facility must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
-
All travelers may be expected to float between facilities within the state; refusal to float may result in assignment termination

Block schedule requests are subject to manager discretion

RN scrub color is Navy Blue; L&D scrubs are provided by the facility
