Tennessee State University Department of Agriculture and Evironmental Sciences invites candidates to apply for the Project Coordinator/Account Manager position. This a grant-funded, temporary, full-time position (21 months).
In support of the NEXTGEN USDA NIFA grant project and under the supervision of the Project Director/Principal Investigator, this position will liaise with the dean’s office, Grants and Accounting administrators, Accounts Payable administrators, Procurement administrators, sub awardees, consultants, and vendors to coordinate billing and accounting reports.
Specific duties include:
Work with the Project Manager to ensure the NEXTGEN grant project is finished on time and executed correctly and within budget.
Coordinate all tasks and moving parts within the NEXTGEN project and oversee the day-to-day progression of the project and keep an eye on its administrative tasks.
Work in conjunction with all other team members and create and adhere to an agreed-upon timeline and schedule. This includes checking in with the team to receive updates on the progress throughout the life of the project, and to ensure that goals and priorities remain intact. Use software and spreadsheets to track a project’s timeline, the budget, and any other relevant information. Track and organize the financial files and documents, contracts, and any reports or invoices.
Perform various administrative tasks, including the ordering of office supplies, invoicing vendors, making phone calls, assisting with all forms of communications, assisting NEXTGEN students and faculty, and bookkeeping. Track project financials and follow up with partners to ensure that payment has been received.
Provide technical assistance support to projects as defined by the project coordinator.
Develop and produce reports of study data for project staff, stakeholders, and NIFA. Inform leadership of project status on an ongoing basis. Responsible for generating, interpreting, printing, and archiving various assigned reports.
Assist with support of multiple research studies, field experiences, study abroad, outreach programs, and student recruitment and engagement activities.
Help to develop and maintain knowledge and skills and keep up-to-date with new processes and procedures. Help project team members with processes and help them understand processes.
