Pay Range
$44.15 - $66.25
Serves as technical resource in the evaluation, planning, and implementation of Enterprise-wide teammate health and safety processes and practices by coordinating all elements of the teammate safety program at assigned facilities. Responsible for the oversight of project implementations geared towards the continuous improvement of workers compensation losses and workforce safety. Supports the redesign of workflows that impact high reliability, teammate safety and regulatory compliance. Works closely with executive leadership teams, directors, managers as well as the frontline teammates to reduce workplace hazards and mitigate risk. Collaborates with other key stakeholders to promote zero harm fundamentals across the enterprise. Serves as a change agent, driving performance improvement in teammate injury prevention across assigned locations in the Wake and Charlotte, NC region.
Major Responsibilities:
Develops and maintains strong working relationships within the Advocate Health Enterprise and with professional organizations and other healthcare organizations, municipal services, and regulatory authorities.
Investigates injuries and near miss occurrences to determine if current policy or procedures require changes. Works in conjunction with department leaders to complete thorough investigations of safety events, analysis of potential hazards and development of methods to reduce losses. Coordinates to ensure root cause analysis of identified critical incidents.
Reviews safety events entered daily into the reporting system, reviews safety data on a regular basis to identify strengths, opportunities for improvement, trends, and actionable items.
Assists sites, departments, and individuals in the identification of information, data requirements, and modifications needed to support program activities.
Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:
Education Required:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent knowledge in Occupational Health and Safety, Public Health, Industrial Hygiene, Industrial Technology or a health-related field.
Experience Required:
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with all levels of employees, management, executives, and other organizations and to address difficult and controversial issues.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Works in an office and hospital environment sitting, standing, and walking. Works with standard office equipment.
Position requires travel which may result in exposure to road and weather hazards.
May spend time in a healthcare facility or support services setting.
Must be able to carry up to 15 pounds.
Ability to climb ladders and stairs
Responsible for working in a safe manner.
Preferred Job Requirements
Preferred Education:
Master’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Public Health, Industrial Hygiene, Industrial Technology or a health-related field preferred.
Advance training in teammate safety or equivalent preferred.
Preferred Certification / License:
Preferred Experience:
3 years of experience in healthcare-related field and experience in employee or occupational health and safety preferred.
Comfortable speaking to both large and small groups
Experience with data analytics
