Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Trailer Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for inspecting, repairing, and maintaining a wide variety of DRY VAN TRAILERS and REEFERS to ensure optimal safety, performance, and compliance with industry standards. This position offers an opportunity for mechanics to get paid PER JOB or Hourly. Any hours over 40 hours will be paid time and a half.
Duties
- Perform comprehensive inspections of trailers, including brakes, suspension, axles, electrical systems, and hydraulics to identify issues proactively.
- Repair and overhaul trailer components such as, air brake systems, shocks & struts, and wheel assemblies using hand tools and power tools.
- Fabricate custom parts or modifications using welding techniques and schematics to meet specific operational needs.
- Maintain detailed service records, logs of repairs performed, parts used, and inspections completed to ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Experience
- Proven experience working as a mechanic in a fleet leasing company or automotive school
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems repair including hydraulics, electrical systems, and vehicle maintenance procedures.
- Hands-on experience with trailer assembly/disassembly, and electrical diagnostics/ABS
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other maintenance machinery required for complex repairs.
Pay: $28.00 - $35.00 per hour
