Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Medical Billing Specialist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the billing process, ensuring accurate coding, and facilitating timely collections. Duties
- Process and submit medical claims using appropriate coding systems including DRG, CPT, and ICD-10.
- Review and verify patient information and insurance details to ensure accuracy in billing.
- Manage accounts receivable by following up on unpaid claims and conducting medical collections as necessary.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Utilize EMR and EHR systems for efficient management of patient data and billing processes.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to resolve any discrepancies or issues related to billing or coding.
- Stay updated on industry changes regarding medical billing practices and coding standards.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in medical billing, coding, or related roles within a medical office setting.
- Proficiency in ICD coding and CPT coding is essential.
- Familiarity with DRG classifications and their application in billing processes.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology and healthcare regulations.
- Experience with EMR/EHR systems is highly desirable.
- Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Ability to communicate clearly with patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies regarding billing matters.
