Schagrin Home Comfort Products is a 4th generation family-owned local business specializing in propane delivery and the installation and service of gas appliances including standby generators, gas logs and fireplaces, HVAC equipment, and other comfort and convenience products.
Objective
To service Schagrin Home Comfort Products residential and commercial customers in a safe and professional manner. Perform routine maintenance and service repairs on generators, and other propane/natural gas appliances. Maintain and operate shop equipment and tools, performing quality work, as quickly and efficiently as possible.
Essential Functions
- Service, repair, and assemble equipment as assigned by supervisors.
- Diagnose problems and repair Liquid-Cooled and Air-Cooled generators.
- Diagnose problems and repair propane and natural gas appliances.
- Perform any safety or regulatory inspections as required.
- Install propane gas piping systems, tanks, cylinders, appliances, etc. as needed.
- Maintain accurate, easy-to-read records of all work performed and materials used.
- Maintain safe work habits.
- Maintain and care for all shop tools, machines, equipment and vehicles (fluid levels).
- Suggest any additional repairs needed to the appliance manager and/or customer.
- Supply own hand tools.
- Periodically review product bulletins and stay current with technical changes.
- Treats customers and co-workers in a friendly, courteous manner.
- Represents Schagrin Home Comfort Products in a professional and courteous manner.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be Generac certified.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a closely related field, i.e. electrical, mechanical equipment, HVAC.
- Must have a valid driver’s license, in good standing.
- Must be mechanically inclined with close attention to detail.
- Must comply with Schagrin Home Comfort Products and DOT drug testing policy.
- Ability to understand and follow instructions in English.
- Capable of lifting a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Must be comfortable working in an environment is indoors and outdoors in all types of weather.
- Ability to bend, stoop, twist and move freely in the performance of the position.
Schedule Requirements
- Must be able to work Monday-Friday from 7:00am-3:30pm
- Required to be "on call" on a rotating basis after completion of training. Must be readily by phone/email, on evenings and weekends, during on-call shift.
Physical Demands/Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, and walk; use hands to finger, handle, and feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The employee must be able to lift and/or move a minimum of 50lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
