BASIC FUNCTION:
The Eviction Prevention Specialist is responsible for assisting tenants and landlords in working together to prevent homelessness and preserve tenancies. The Eviction Prevention Specialist will work well with an internal team and have a strong ability to coordinate with other agencies as needed to assist clients in reaching their goals.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Pre-screen for financial assistance from CMHA on variety of funding sourcesgeared to prevent homelessness
- Maintain accurate data and up to date notes
- Develop a deep understanding of funding sources and qualifications
- Be able to work with case management/data systems (E2E) to process RAFTapplications
- Provide referrals to other social services agencies
- Return all messages (phone, email) in a timely manner
- Participate in community outreach to disseminate information on preventionand housing resources
- Counsel tenants and landlords on their rights and responsibilities
- Assist Director of Housing Counseling with projects as necessary
- Assist in meeting funding requirements and completing applications for funds
- Other duties as assigned by Supervisor or Designee

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree or related experience in the field for 2 years
- Excellent written/verbal communication skills
- Detail oriented and well organized
- Strong computer skills, with experience in a variety of software applications including Microsoft Office 365 and Teams / SharePoint
- Demonstrated experience working with culturally and economically diverse groups of people
- Knowledge of private and subsidized housing markets
- Ability to work as part of a team, multi-task, and work well with the community in a fast-paced environment
- Sensitivity toward the needs and challenges of families served
- Bilingual English / Spanish preferred
Pay: $21.00 per hour
