Job Summary
We’re looking for an energetic and reliable Wedding Cake Delivery Driver to join our team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for safely transporting beautifully crafted wedding cakes and baked goods to various venues. Your enthusiasm for driving and customer service will help ensure our clients receive their orders on time and in perfect condition. Duties
- Safely load, unload, and deliver wedding cakes and baked goods using box trucks or personal vehicles.
- Follow designated routes while adhering to traffic regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards.
- Handle heavy lifting and manual handling tasks safely during loading and unloading processes.
- Use mobile devices or delivery apps to manage routes, update delivery statuses, and communicate with the team.
- Ensure all deliveries are made on time, maintaining the integrity of delicate cakes during transit.
- Assist with warehouse operations when not on deliveries, including material handling and moving supplies or equipment like pallet jacks.
- Provide excellent customer service by greeting clients professionally and ensuring their orders are received in pristine condition.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in delivery driving or courier services is preferred; warehouse experience is a plus.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience with commercial truck driving or box trucks is ideal.
- Comfortable operating manual transmission vehicles and material handling equipment such as pallet jacks.
- Knowledge of safe lifting practices, heavy lifting techniques, and weight handling in the workplace.
- Familiarity with route driving, adhering to traffic laws, and DOT regulations related to commercial vehicle operation.
- Strong communication skills for interacting courteously with clients and team members.
- Ability to lift heavy boxes safely and perform manual handling tasks efficiently.
