Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to perform troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. This role is essential to ensuring production efficiency and compliance with food safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Perform emergency and scheduled repairs on production equipment
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
- Read and interpret equipment manuals, schematics, and work orders
- Ensure compliance with OSHA safety and health regulations
- Participate in training and continuing education
- Maintain documentation in accordance with SQF standards
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent (required)
- Technical training or certification (preferred)
- Minimum 2 years of maintenance experience in a food manufacturing environment
- Skills in welding, electrical systems, PLCs, and mechanical repair
Skills
- Ability to read and understand instructions and manuals
- Basic math skills including rates, ratios, and percentages
- Strong problem-solving and reasoning abilities
Physical Requirements
- Frequent: bending, squatting, kneeling, standing, walking
- Occasional: reaching, twisting, pushing/pulling, lifting up to 75 lbs
- Vision: near, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception
- Work environment includes moderate to loud noise, occasional exposure to wet/humid conditions, mechanical parts, airborne particles, chemicals, and vibration
