Job Summary
Must have Illinois Basset and Illinois Food Handlers certificates. We are looking for a full time bartender, shifts that need to be covered are day time, night time, weekdays, weekend, New Years Eve, Fourth of July, Black Wednesday, Halloween. Not that you are required to work all of the "holidays" but at least some of them. As a full time bartender you sometimes you need to be the "life" of the party, not "in" the party. We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Bartender/Server to join our dynamic hospitality team. The ideal candidate will excel in providing exceptional customer service, managing bar and dining operations efficiently, and creating a welcoming atmosphere for guests. This role requires a strong knowledge of food and beverage service, POS systems, and the ability to handle multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment. Experience is highly valued. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent time management, sales skills, and food safety awareness to ensure a memorable guest experience.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages accurately using POS system.
- Take food and drink orders from guests, ensuring prompt and courteous service.
- Manage cash handling and cashiering duties with precision, including processing payments and giving correct change.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, dining space, and service stations in compliance with food safety standards.
- Upsell menu items to increase sales while providing knowledgeable recommendations to guests.
- Monitor guest consumption to promote responsible drinking practices.
- Assist with catering events as needed.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth restaurant operations during shifts.
- Adhere to all food handling regulations and safety procedures to ensure guest safety.
Requirements
- Experience in food service, restaurant, or hospitality environments is a plus.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage guests professionally and courteously.
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tables or bar orders efficiently during busy periods.
- Basic math skills for cash handling, retail math calculations, and billing accuracy.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures.
- Ability to work flexible hours including days, nights, weekdays, weekends.
