We are seeking a motivated, compassionate, and detail-oriented Surgical Dental Assistant to join our growing practice. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, providing exceptional patient care, and assisting with surgical procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the doctor during surgical procedures, including extractions, implants, bone grafting, and other oral surgery treatments
- Assist with procedures involving IV and oral sedation, including patient preparation, monitoring, and recovery under the direction of the doctor and in accordance with state regulations
- Monitor and document patient vital signs before, during, and after sedation procedures
- Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and surgical materials
- Ensure proper sterilization and infection control protocols are followed
- Take and process dental radiographs
- Educate patients on pre-operative and post-operative instructions
- Monitor patient comfort and help create a positive experience
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
- Support team members and contribute to an efficient workflow
Qualifications:
- Dental Assistant certification/license as required by state regulations
- Surgical assisting experience preferred, but willing to train the right candidate
- Knowledge of dental terminology, sterilization procedures, and radiography
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to remain calm and professional in a surgical setting
- Compassionate, dependable, and patient-focused
- Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency with dental software (such as Eaglesoft) is a plus!
