Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, execution, and closing of commercial electrical projects, ensuring alignment with client specifications and company standards.
- Review construction drawings, schematics, and blueprints to verify accuracy and compliance with NEC (National Electrical Code) and NFPA 70 standards.
- Manage project budgets by controlling costs through accurate construction estimating and cost management practices.
- Oversee the permitting phase involvement, ensuring all necessary permits are obtained efficiently while maintaining compliance with local regulations.
- Coordinate construction activities on-site, including managing subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to meet project milestones.
- Conduct regular site inspections to review construction progress, quality assurance, safety protocols, and adherence to design specifications.
- Review contracts and manage project scope changes while maintaining clear communication with clients regarding project status.
- Utilize tools like ProCore and Sharepoint for project documentation, RFIs (Request for Information), submittals, and drawing reviews.
- Ensure all electrical systems are designed according to system design principles and that installation complies with NFPA 70 (National Fire Protection Association standards).
- Facilitate communication between stakeholders to resolve issues promptly and keep projects on track.
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation including schedules, reports, change orders, and safety records.
- Directing, assisting, and/or advising subcontractors and vendors as needed.
Requirements
- Proven experience managing large-scale electrical construction projects within commercial settings
- Proficiency in reading electrical blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings; ability to interpret technical documents accurately.
- Familiarity with NEC (National Electrical Code), NFPA 70 compliance standards, permitting processes, and system design principles.
- Strong understanding of construction estimating processes combined with cost management skills to control project budgets effectively.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously while managing time efficiently.
- Excellent communication skills for effective project contract management and team collaboration.
- Hands-on construction site experience in electrical projects; knowledge of construction management best practices is essential.
- Certifications such as PMP (Project Management Professional), OSHA safety training or equivalent are highly desirable.
- Ability to read schematics thoroughly and manage construction schedule coordination seamlessly from start to finish.
