Perform a variety of tasks to support asphalt paving operations on public, commercial, and industrial projects. Duties include manual labor and operation of equipment to assist in the construction, maintenance, and repair of asphalt surfaces such as roads, parking lots, and rights-of-way.

Perform general labor duties including shoveling, raking, and spreading asphalt materials.

Assist with asphalt paving, patching, and repair of roadways, parking lots, and other surfaces.

Operate or assist in operating heavy equipment such as rollers, pavers, skid steers (bobcats), and backhoes depending on experience and training.

Prepare and clean job sites, including debris removal and surface preparation.

Support crew members in achieving proper grade, drainage, and compaction of asphalt.

Assist with loading and unloading materials and equipment.

Follow all safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

Work in coordination with crew members, foremen, and supervisors to complete projects efficiently.

Perform traffic control setup, maintenance, and removal as needed.

Participate in prevailing wage projects as assigned.

Ability to complete basic daily reports or documentation as required.

Work overtime, weekends, or irregular hours as needed based on project demands.

A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) is preferred.

Zero to two years of related experience in asphalt, construction, or similar field preferred.

Experience operating heavy equipment is a plus but not required.

Must possess a valid California Driver’s License.

Must have fewer than two (2) points on driving record and maintain a driving record acceptable to the company’s insurance carrier.

Ability to obtain and maintain any required certifications related to equipment operation or safety training.
