The following job duties/responsibilities of the Director of Nursing will include but is not limited to:
- Monitoring compliance of applicable laws and regulations of the state and federal level
- Maintaining standards of care which are outlined by the state
- Responsible for operations of the facility while Administrator is not present
- Compiling statistics, preparing reports and ensuring the maintenance of our resident's medical records.
- Directly responsible for the nursing staff
- Making decisions about hiring and firing the nursing staff
- Overseeing and reviewing the schedule of nursing staff while maintaining the budget that is set forth
- Helping to develop and implement policies and procedures for all aspects involving the nursing department and abroad
The director of nursing is a vital part of our facility. He or she is expected to be an integral part in conflict resolution by assisting with any problems that the staff, the residents or providers may have. Additionally, he or she will need to be ready for any emergency that may arise in the facility. He or she should also be ready to cover any of the duties that his or her staff performs whenever it may be required.
