Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced PACU Registered Nurse for a 13-week assignment in Modesto, California.
This is a great opportunity for a PACU RN looking for a day-shift assignment with a 1:2 patient ratio and no call requirement.
Requirements
- 2 years of RN experience required
- PACU experience
- California RN License – Required
- BLS – Required
- ACLS – Required
- PALS – Required
- Epic charting experience
- Community hospital experience required
- Travel experience not required
- Previous charge experience preferred
PACU Skills & Experience
Experience with:
- Phase I and Phase II PACU
- Pre/Post-operative care
- Airway assessment and management
- Extubation / LMA
- Ventilated patient care
- End-tidal CO₂ monitoring
- Chest tube management
- Arterial line management
- Dysrhythmia recognition and management
- IV therapy and phlebotomy
- Central line and PICC management
- Blood product administration
- Procedural sedation
- IV vasopressors
- Pain management
- Medication reconciliation
- Pre-op assessment and education
- 12-lead EKG/ECG
- Post-operative recovery
Surgical Case Experience
The PACU supports a wide range of surgical cases, including:

Schedule
- 3x12-hour day shifts
- Friday start time varies between 7:00 AM–10:30 AM
- Saturday & Sunday: 7:00 AM start
- Patient ratio: 1:2
- No call
- Orientation: 72 hours
- 2 RTO requests allowed

- 16 PACU beds
- Approximately 40 daily cases
- Patient population: Infants, Pediatrics, Adolescents, Adults & Geriatrics
- Epic charting
- Wide range of surgical recovery patients
- Local candidates accepted
- Local bill rate differs
