Northstar Behavioral Health is a team of professionals that specialize in medication assisted treatment through a multi-faceted programming structure for those battling opioid addiction. Our integrated team of professionals work with clients individually and in group settings. We are looking for individuals that possess the ability to learn and counsel residents and help them to become mentally sound, emotionally balanced, socially adjusted, physically well and spiritually alive.
Key Result Areas:
Work with LADC Supervisor, and assist running groups
Support intake and orientation with clients independently by the last month of internship
Do assessments independently
Create 2 individualized treatment plans with client under supervision
Have a caseload of at least 2 clients when appropriate
Bring in an outside resource to provide information to staff and clients
Attend weekly supervision, multidisciplinary, and clinical meetings
Documentation to be 100% compliant
Same day charting
Professionally presentable workspace (no spills and HIPAA compliant)
Job Duties and Responsibilities: (Essential Functions)
Provide individual therapy, group therapy, case management, crisis intervention that addresses the goals established on the treatment plan.
Required Skills and Experience: (Minimum requirements in terms of educational background, work experience, licenses/certifications or other knowledge skills and abilities)
Be in internship/practicum course with an approved educational entity
CPR Certification or attain within 30 days
Must have 2 years of freedom from chemical use problems
Must pass a State of Minnesota Background Check
Must possess a current Minnesota Driver’s License with acceptable driving record
Ability to use Google Drive and other computer skills
Additional Skills and Experience: (Preferred or helpful)
Familiar with Medicated Assisted Treatment (MAT) Model
Motivational Interviewing Approach
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Familiar with Procentive, Electronic Health Record System
