Job Summary
The Manufacturing Engineer develops, implements, and improves manufacturing processes for lighting fixtures and components. This role partners closely with Design, Engineering, and Production to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and ensure product quality. Ideal candidates are analytical, process‑driven, and eager to make a measurable impact on production operations.
Key Responsibilities
Process Improvement & Optimization
- Develop, document, and implement new manufacturing processes and engineering procedures
- Analyze workflow, material usage, and bottlenecks; recommend improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean/Six Sigma principles
Technical Support & Troubleshooting
- Provide daily technical support to production teams
- Investigate and resolve manufacturing issues including material variances and process deviations
- Verify Bills of Materials (BOMs) for accuracy
Tooling, Equipment & Safety
- Design and implement jigs, fixtures, and tooling
- Establish and monitor maintenance schedules for plant machinery
- Evaluate equipment needs and prepare capital expenditure recommendations
- Train staff on safety protocols and lead the Safety Committee
New Product Introduction
- Coordinate manufacturing launch of new or revised products
- Develop documentation, train production teams, and evaluate launch results
- Represent manufacturing on cross‑functional teams
Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare reports on manufacturing performance and trends
- Maintain accurate records in the company ERP system (NetSuite)
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or related Engineering field
- 1–2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
- Proficiency with SolidWorks and AutoCAD
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and mechanical systems
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem‑solving skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred
- Experience with Lean or Six Sigma methodologies
- NetSuite or other ERP experience
- Experience designing tooling, fixtures, or jigs
- Lighting or electrical product manufacturing experience
