Recertification Specialist
The Successful candidate will be responsible for managing the recertification process for residents in subsidized housing programs like Section 8 and LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit). This involves ensuring compliance with HUD and other regulatory guidelines, verifying income and eligibility, and maintaining accurate records. Key Responsibilities:
- Recertification Processing:
- Initiating and managing the recertification process for both annual and interim reviews.
- Verifying tenant income and eligibility according to HUD and LIHTC guidelines.
- Calculating rent based on income and household size.
- Ensuring timely completion of recertifications and adherence to deadlines.
- Processing initial, annual, and interim recertifications, including retroactive rent calculations.
- In-depth knowledge of LIHTC program regulations and compliance
- Ensuring compliance with all applicable HUD, LIHTC, and other regulatory requirements.
- Experience with rent calculations, income certifications, Annual certifications, and regulatory requirements
- Reviewing tenant files and ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Identifying and resolving any discrepancies in income reporting.
- Communicating program requirements and changes to residents.
- Providing guidance and support throughout the recertification process.
- Addressing tenant inquiries and concerns related to recertification.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date tenant files and records.
- Ensuring proper documentation for all recertification processes.
- Utilizing property management software (like Yardi or OneSite) to manage records.
- Coordinating lease signings and rent changes.
- Assisting with the implementation of renewal schedules.
- Identifying households with income reporting discrepancies and making rent adjustments.
- Reviewing applicant files and determining Section 8 eligibility.
- Completing monthly reporting and tracking key performance indicator
Pay: $70,000.00 per year
Work Location: In person
