We are seeking a detail-oriented and innovative Electrical Engineer to support the design, development, and manufacturing of custom wire harnesses and cable assemblies. This position plays a key role in ensuring our products meet customer specifications, industry standards, and quality expectations while supporting efficient manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop wire harnesses, cable assemblies, and electrical interconnect systems for a variety of applications.
- Interpret customer drawings, specifications, and electrical schematics to develop manufacturable designs.
- Create and maintain engineering documentation, including bills of materials (BOMs), wiring diagrams, assembly instructions, and engineering change notices (ECNs).
- Collaborate with production, quality, purchasing, and sales teams to ensure products are manufacturable, cost-effective, and delivered on schedule.
- Support new product introductions (NPI) from concept through production.
- First Article Implementation
- Evaluate materials, connectors, terminals, and cable types to ensure compliance with customer and industry requirements.
- Provide support for troubleshooting manufacturing issues, implementing corrective actions.
- Handle all RMAs through completion.
- Develop and maintain testing procedures for continuity, hipot, and functional electrical testing.
- Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards, including IPC/WHMA-A-620, UL
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, productivity, and cost reduction.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- 3+ years of experience in wire harness, cable assembly, or electromechanical manufacturing preferred.
- Strong understanding of electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and interconnect systems.
- Experience with CAD and electrical design software (AutoCAD Electrical, SolidWorks Electrical, EPLAN, or similar).
- Knowledge of IPC/WHMA-A-620 workmanship standards.
- Familiarity with connectors, terminals, crimping processes, shielding, grounding, and cable routing.
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems and engineering documentation is a plus.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

- Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies
- Root cause analysis and corrective action processes

Pay: $70,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
