American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Clinical Resource Unit (Float Pool) position in Normal, IL, requiring Epic EMR experience and a minimum of one year of nursing experience.

Float pool position serving multiple inpatient units including Medical-Oncology, Surgical-Orthopedic, Cardiovascular Care Unit, Progressive Care Unit, Mental Health Unit, and Acute Rehab

Patient population includes acute and chronically ill cardiac and pulmonary patients, with diagnoses such as coronary artery disease, MI, dysrhythmia, CHF, stroke, cancer, and post-surgical cases

Float assignments may extend to Carle Health Methodist Hospital, Young Minds, Carle Health Pekin Hospital, and/or Carle Health Proctor Hospital

Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hours/week)

Weekend shifts on a rotation basis

Holiday shifts on a rotation basis

Epic EMR used for all documentation

Active IL RN license required; temporary license accepted

BLS certification (AHA) required

Minimum 1 year of relevant RN experience required

Epic EMR experience required

Nursing diploma or degree required

Skills required include IV venipuncture, blood administration, medication administration, post-operative care, and patient education

Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position

Candidate must not have been on continuous assignment with Carle Health for more than 1 year; workers must either convert or take a 6-month break in service before returning to any Carle Health location

RTO may not exceed 7 days for the duration of the 13-week contract

Responsibilities include floating to various inpatient units, conducting patient assessments, developing and modifying care plans, delegating to HCTs, managing post-operative care, and providing bedside shift reports

Staff are expected to participate in team huddles, maintain patient communication boards, perform hourly rounding, and answer call lights promptly

Fast-paced, evolving clinical environment supported by an interdisciplinary team including nurse leaders and physician partners
