Painter
As a Painter, you have duties and responsibilities that must be accomplished. These duties
include:
- Specified Duties: Those related to assigned process area and positions. Be
proficient and knowledgeable on facility directives, regulations, and safety practices
that affect performance.
- Directed Duties: Those issued by superiors orally or in writing; these duties are
not specifically outlined in the facility control plan.
- Implied Duties: Often support specified duties, but in some cases, they may not
be related to the assigned job position (i.e., cross training). These duties may not be
written but implied in instructions. They are duties that improve the quality of the job
and help keep the facility functioning at an optimum level.
General Job Description
Applies power coating material/paint utilizing a spray gun technique to a variety of
surfaces. Pre-loaded parts circulate through their designated paint booth on a conveyor line for
application.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Applying appropriate powder application to hanging parts.
- Maintaining and clean assigned powered gun.
- Wear standard issued PPE, to include paint suit, paint hood and breathing
apparatus.
- Support Powder Lead with paint change, booth, and powder room cleanup.
- Perform color change if Powder Lead is not available.
- Good understanding of quality control principles.
- Discuss paint defects from prior day and implement corrective actions.
- Repetitive standing, bending, reaching and arm monition.
- Maintain line safety in accordance with company policies.
- Notify supervisor of any existing or potential safety issues.
- Responsible for attending work on time and for scheduled hours each day.
- No Cell phones allowed in powder rooms or paint booths.
- Start and Stop line if necessary.
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Preferred Skills
- Good communication skills (verbal and written).
Qualification and Education Requirements
- 18yrs of age or older.
- Previous painter experience preferred.
- Highschool Diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
