This position will involve performing field inspections of residential and commercial construction projects as part of the municipal building permit process. Professional and courteous interaction will be necessary with contractors, property owners, design professionals and municipal officials. This position requires the ability to work independently, scheduling inspections and completing related paperwork while providing courteous interaction with our municipal partners.
All applicants shall obtain the MD State Fire Marshal’s approval as a NON-Governmental Electrical Inspector for consideration for this position. Applicants are required to reside in or near St. Mary’s County, MD or being willing to relocate. Additional certifications are required for this position. They will be required thereafter at 60-day intervals.
