We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer to support the maintenance, repair, and reliability of production equipment within our industrial laundry facility. The ideal candidate will possess strong electrical troubleshooting abilities, mechanical aptitude, and experience working with industrial machinery in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
This position is responsible for performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting equipment failures, and ensuring the safe and efficient operation of all production equipment and facility systems.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on industrial laundry equipment and facility systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electronic equipment.
- Diagnose equipment malfunctions and perform repairs to minimize production downtime.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
- Assist with equipment installations, upgrades, and facility improvement projects.
- Complete assigned maintenance projects as directed by management.
- Operate and maintain assigned equipment according to established procedures and safety standards.
- Maintain work areas, maintenance shops, and storage locations in a clean and organized manner.
- Monitor equipment performance and report deficiencies, safety concerns, and facility issues promptly.
- Operate forklifts and scissor lifts safely while performing maintenance duties.
- Perform work at heights up to 37 feet as required.
- Accurately document maintenance activities and completed repairs.
- Support production operations by responding to equipment breakdowns and emergency repairs.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Strong electrical troubleshooting experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of electrical systems, motor controls, relays, sensors, and industrial equipment.
- Experience troubleshooting hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to repair and maintain production equipment.
- Basic computer skills and ability to utilize maintenance software and work order systems.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during an 8+ hour shift.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and move carts weighing up to 400 pounds.
- Ability to safely operate forklifts and scissor lifts.
- Ability to work at heights exceeding 10 feet.
Preferred
- Previous experience in an industrial laundry, manufacturing, food processing, or production environment.
- Experience with commercial laundry equipment, conveyors, dryers, washers, presses, or automated production systems.
- Knowledge of PLCs, VFDs, electrical controls, and automation systems.
- Forklift and scissor lift certification.
