Crestwood Terrace is an Intermediate Care Facility, providing care to the mentally ill/behavior health population (ages 21 and up). Located in a quiet neighborhood, we are one of 3 medical centers on our street. What makes us unique:

What you will do in this role: The Medical Records Clerk is the person that coordinates and maintains all patient records within the center, in accordance with state and federal regulations. Below is a sample of daily duties:

Assist in developing procedures to ensure records are properly completed, coded, signed, indexed, etc., before filing.

Collect charts, assemble them in proper order, and inspect them for completion.

Ensure incomplete records/charts are returned to nursing service for correction.

Answer telephone inquiries concerning medical records functions. Prepare written correspondence as necessary.

Other related duties and responsibilities that may become necessary or appropriate to meet the administrative needs of this facility. (Example: arrange transportation and appointments for patients/residents...)
Medical Records: officially we title this job a Medical Records Clerk, but in other centers it could be called a Health Information Technologist (RHIT) or Coordinator.
What we need from you:

RHIT or RHIM certification is not required
-
High school diploma or GED is required, but an associate’s degree or higher is preferred

Prior medical records experience within a skilled nursing facility (SNF or ICF); to include some knowledge of IDPH SNF regulations and procedures

Above average computer literacy; specifically, with MS Office products and file storage software
-
Medical Terminology and Coding (ICD10) experience preferred, but not required (this is not a coding position)

EMR experience; Point Click Care (PCC) preferred

Our ideal candidate will also have prior experience with transportation scheduling
