QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Graduate of a Medical Assistant program required
- Medical Assistant Certification or Registration required
- Must be able to perform blood draws, IV's and injections
- BLS and HIPAA certified
- Must be able to travel to satellite offices if needed
Duties and Responsibilities
- Room patients and obtain vital signs.
- Obtain and document patient medical histories.
- Perform medication reconciliation.
- Perform phlebotomy and blood draws.
- Prepare patients for examinations and procedures.
- Assist providers during procedures as needed.
- Administer injections within scope of practice.
- Collect and process laboratory specimens.
- Accurately document patient information in the EMR.
- Provide clear and compassionate patient education.
- Maintain a professional, organized, and patient-centered environment.
- Effectively multitask in a busy, high-volume nephrology practice.
Requirements
- Proven ability to perform phlebotomy and draw blood independently.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
- Previous Medical Assistant experience preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to multitask and remain calm in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Professional, reliable, and compassionate approach to patient care.
