Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Litigation Paralegal to join our legal team. In this role, you will provide essential support to attorneys in various litigation matters, ensuring the efficient management of cases from inception through resolution. Your expertise will contribute significantly to our commitment to delivering high-quality legal services and achieving favorable outcomes for our clients.
Duties
- Assist attorneys in the preparation and organization of legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery materials.
- Conduct thorough legal research using platforms such as LexisNexis and Westlaw to support case strategies.
- Manage case files and maintain accurate records within document management systems, ensuring compliance with all legal standards.
- Coordinate and schedule depositions, hearings, and meetings, while providing executive administrative support as needed.
- Review and summarize documents for relevance and importance in litigation cases.
- Prepare trial exhibits and assist in trial preparation by organizing evidence and witness lists.
- Communicate effectively with clients, witnesses, and court personnel while maintaining professionalism at all times.
- Perform data entry, document review, transcription, and proofreading tasks to ensure accuracy in all legal documentation.
- Stay updated on relevant laws including estate planning, environmental law, immigration law, family law, securities law, and more to provide informed support.
Skills
- Proven paralegal experience with a strong understanding of litigation processes.
- Proficiency in legal research tools such as LexisNexis and Westlaw.
- Familiarity with document management systems like iManage and PCLaw.
- Strong writing skills with the ability to draft clear legal documents and correspondence.
- Excellent organizational skills with a keen attention to detail for managing multiple cases simultaneously.
- Effective interviewing skills for gathering information from clients and witnesses.
- Knowledge of various areas of law including landlord-tenant law, workers' compensation law, personal injury law, patent law, UCC law, tribal law & regulations, among others.
- Strong clerical experience with proficiency in data entry and filing procedures.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality while handling sensitive information.
