Job Summary
Join our dedicated team as a School Resource Officer (SRO), where you will serve as a vital link between law enforcement and our school community. In this dynamic role, you will promote safety, foster positive relationships, and provide law enforcement expertise to ensure a secure and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. Your leadership and proactive approach will help prevent incidents, resolve conflicts, and support educational success through community engagement and law enforcement best practices.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a safe school environment by monitoring campus activities, conducting patrols, and responding swiftly to emergencies or incidents.
- Build strong relationships with students, staff, parents, and community members to promote trust and open communication.
- Enforce laws, local ordinances, and school policies related to safety, traffic,
- Conduct criminal investigations related to school incidents, including theft, vandalism, or other misconduct.
- Document incidents thoroughly through detailed report writing and maintain accurate records of investigations and activities.
- Utilize surveillance equipment to monitor campus areas for suspicious activity or security breaches.
- Assist in traffic control during school events or emergencies while adhering to traffic laws and procedural law requirements.
- Handle conflict management situations with professionalism, applying use of force training when necessary within legal boundaries.
- Support loss prevention efforts by identifying suspicious behavior or potential threats to the school community.
Experience
- Must have a valid Act 235 Certification
- Must have current Clearances in Child Abuse , FBI , and PA State Police.
- Must have or be willing to complete ACT 67 Basic Security Resource Officer Course
- Strong report writing skills with attention to detail for incident documentation and legal compliance.
