Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and energetic Floor Supervisor to lead retail operations on the sales floor, ensuring a seamless shopping experience for customers and a motivating environment for team members. This pivotal role combines leadership, customer service excellence, inventory management, and sales management to drive store success. As a Floor Supervisor, you will oversee daily store activities, supervise staff, and uphold high standards of merchandising, pricing, and customer engagement. Responsibilities
- Supervise daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures, shift management, and ensuring adherence to company policies.
- Lead, motivate, and develop team members through effective training, coaching, and performance feedback to foster a positive work environment.
- Oversee customer service interactions to ensure high satisfaction levels by resolving issues promptly and professionally.
- Manage inventory control processes including stocking, merchandising, pricing accuracy, and inventory audits to optimize product availability.
- Coordinate purchasing activities and assist with vendor relations to maintain optimal stock levels and product assortment.
- Handle cash handling procedures, POS transactions, cashiering duties, and payroll processing with accuracy and integrity.
- Implement marketing strategies on the sales floor to promote products and increase sales through effective merchandising techniques.
- Utilize organizational skills to ensure store cleanliness, safety standards are met, and store layout is appealing for customers.
- Maintain communication with upper management regarding sales performance, inventory needs, staffing requirements, and operational issues.
Qualifications
- Proven supervising experience in retail or grocery store environments with strong leadership capabilities.
- Excellent communication skills in multiple languages; bilingual abilities are highly desirable.
- Demonstrated expertise in retail math including pricing strategies, sales management, budgeting, and financial recordkeeping such as bookkeeping.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently across various responsibilities like stock management, merchandising, and administrative tasks.
- Proficiency in POS systems, wireless sales tools, cash handling procedures, and store management software.
- Experience in employee orientation, training & development programs to foster team growth.
- Knowledge of inventory management systems along with skills in purchasing and inventory control processes.
- Ability to perform under pressure while maintaining excellent customer service standards; experience in retail sales environments is preferred.
