Are you the person production turns to when a test fixture isn’t working, equipment goes down, or a manufacturing process needs to be improved?
Advanced Assembly, Inc. is looking for a Manufacturing Engineering Technician with hands-on experience in electronics manufacturing and PCBA production to support our second-shift manufacturing operation.
This is a hands-on role working directly with production, Manufacturing Engineering, and Test Engineering to troubleshoot problems, maintain test and programming equipment, improve processes, and keep production moving.
What You’ll Do
- Troubleshoot, repair, validate, and maintain electronic test fixtures and programming equipment.
- Support production when test equipment, fixtures, or processes aren’t working as expected.
- Troubleshoot manufacturing problems and help identify whether the issue is with the product, equipment, fixture, software, or process.
- Perform preventative maintenance and calibration on production test equipment.
- Support PCBA manufacturing processes and production improvement initiatives.
- Participate in root cause investigations and corrective actions.
- Develop, update, and maintain manufacturing documentation and work instructions.
- Maintain test software and implement approved program revisions.
- Design, develop, source, and improve manufacturing tools, fixtures, and equipment.
- Perform timing studies and other analysis to improve productivity and efficiency.
- Partner with Manufacturing and Test Engineering on projects and process improvements.
- Mentor Manufacturing Technicians and support employee training.
What We’re Looking For
Required:
- Associate degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Electronics Technology, or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Approximately 3+ years of relevant experience in electronics manufacturing.
- Hands-on understanding of PCBA manufacturing processes.
- Experience troubleshooting manufacturing equipment, test equipment, fixtures, or electronic systems.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with operators, supervisors, technicians, and engineers.
Preferred:
- Experience with functional test systems or production programming
- LabVIEW
- Failure analysis and root cause investigation
- DOE, FMEA, Gage R&R, or Design for Test
- IPC workmanship standards
- ISO quality systems
- Manufacturing process improvement
