Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled EMG/NCS Technologist to join our pain management & interventional spine team. In this vital role, you will perform advanced electrophysiological testing, including electromyography (EMG) and nerve conduction studies (NCS), to assist in diagnosing neurological conditions. Your expertise will support neurologists and other healthcare professionals in delivering precise assessments, contributing to effective patient care. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work within a dynamic healthcare environment, utilizing specialized neurodiagnostic equipment and techniques to improve patient outcomes.
Duties
- Conduct electromyography (EMG) and nerve conduction studies (NCS) to evaluate neuromuscular function with precision and attention to detail.
- Operate and maintain complex neurological diagnostic equipment, including electrophysiology monitoring systems and neurodiagnostic devices.
- Monitor patient vital signs, ensure patient comfort, and apply aseptic techniques during procedures to prevent infection.
- Interpret diagnostic test results accurately, collaborating with physicians to support diagnostic evaluation and treatment planning.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of procedures, findings, and patient interactions in accordance with hospital protocols.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, including proper operation of neurological devices and adherence to infection control practices.
Qualifications
- Proven experience performing neurodiagnostic testing such as EMG, NCS, EEG, or electrophysiology monitoring in a clinical setting.
- Strong knowledge of physiology, neuroanatomy, medical terminology, and neurological diagnostics.
- Proficiency operating medical equipment related to electrophysiology testing and patient monitoring systems.
- Experience working in Level I or Level II trauma centers is highly desirable, especially within emergency medicine or neurocritical care environments.
- Ability to interpret diagnostic test results accurately and communicate findings effectively to healthcare teams.
- Excellent patient care skills with a compassionate approach to patient monitoring and support during procedures.
- Certification in neurodiagnostic technology or related fields is preferred; ongoing professional development is encouraged.
