Joe Machens Volkswagen of Columbia is expanding our service and reconditioning departments and is hiring Automotive Technicians.
We are open to experienced line technicians, diagnostic technicians, and used car reconditioning technicians. Volkswagen experience is a plus — but not required.

We have opportunities in both:
- Main Service Department (customer pay & warranty work)
- Used Vehicle Reconditioning (inspection, repair, and front-line readiness)
Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on a variety of vehicles
- Complete multi-point inspections and identify needed repairs
- Accurately document work performed
- Follow manufacturer and dealership repair standards
- Maintain productivity and quality expectations
- Keep work area clean and organized
Responsibilities may vary depending on whether you are placed in main shop service or used vehicle reconditioning.

Qualifications
- Prior automotive technician experience required
- Strong mechanical aptitude and diagnostic ability preferred
- Volkswagen or European brand experience is a plus but not required
- ASE certifications preferred but not required
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
- Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening
- Strong work ethic and team mindset
Compensation
Flat-rate pay based on experience and productivity. Compensation will vary based on skill level and department placement.
