Job Summary and Responsibilities
As a thoracic surgery advance practice provider, you will join Creighton University Medical Center's transformed new chapter in Heart & Chest Care.
Every day you will round on hospitalized patients, providing cardiac and thoracic critical care assessments in pre and post-operative surgery. The clinician will be an integral member of the Critical Care Unit Team, working with the attending physicians and other staff, providing necessary information for team-based care decision making.
To be successful in this role, you will provide specialized tailored care to benefit our patients and their outcomes. At Creighton University Medical Center, we are growing the advanced practice provider Coverage Program for all Cardiac & Thoracic in-patient, ER Consults, Floor Consults, Triaging and Nursing support.

Active Rounding

Pulling Chest Tubes

Replacing Feeding Tubes

Checking on Vitals

Checking on Labs

Running interference for the attending Physician

Managing treatment plans

Job Requirements
Required:
Graduate of an accredited advanced practice training program (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant)
Meet board eligibility or certification requirements
Active or eligible license in the state of Nebraska
Strong clinical skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and health-care professionals
Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
Commitment to providing high-quality, compassionate care to children and families

Pay Range
$126,400 - $147,534 /year
