Responsibilities
- Assist pharmacists with medication dispensing, including compounding medications and sterile IV admixture procedures using aseptic techniques.
- Perform data entry into pharmacy software systems accurately and efficiently, maintaining detailed records of medication orders and patient information.
- Support the preparation and administration of IV infusions, ensuring adherence to sterile procedures and hospital protocols.
- Maintain pharmaceutical regulatory compliance by following state and federal pharmacy laws, drug regulation standards, and medical terminology guidelines.
- Provide excellent patient service by answering questions, managing intake processes, and supporting medication management efforts in community or hospital pharmacy settings.
- Ensure patient confidentiality at all times while handling sensitive health information in accordance with privacy laws.
- Assist with inventory management, medication storage, and maintaining proper stock levels for both hospital and community pharmacy environments.
Experience
- Previous pharmacy technician experience or similar role in LTC is highly preferred.
- Hands-on experience with pharmaceutical calculations, drug regulation compliance, and medical terminology is essential.
- Familiarity with pharmacy software systems, data entry procedures, and medication administration protocols is required.
- Demonstrated knowledge of sterile IV compounding, aseptic technique, and sterile IV admixture procedures is advantageous.
