Position Overview
CultuR Cannabis is looking for a knowledgeable and driven IPM/Fertigation Supervisor to take the helm of two mission-critical functions within our cultivation operation. This is a dual-focus leadership role combining Integrated Pest Management with fertigation system oversight — ideal for someone who brings technical depth in both plant health protection and nutrient delivery systems.
On the IPM side, you’ll supervise a team of IPM Technicians, develop and execute customized pest and disease management programs, and ensure every application is compliant, well-documented, and precisely timed around our cultivation schedule. On the fertigation side, you’ll manage nutrient batch mixing, system maintenance, environmental monitoring, and feed delivery across grow rooms. Together, these responsibilities make this role a cornerstone of plant health and production quality at our facility.
This position requires a sharp eye for detail, strong compliance instincts, and the ability to lead a team while staying hands-on with daily operations. If you thrive in a structured, science-driven environment and are passionate about cannabis cultivation done right — we want to hear from you.
What You’ll Do
Integrated Pest Management (IPM)
- Develop and deliver weekly application prescriptions for each facility zone, tailoring recommendations based on current pest pressure, plant health assessments, cultivation scheduling, and site-specific conditions.
- Conduct thorough, systematic scouting of all grow rooms to detect, identify, and document pest and pathogen presence at the earliest opportunity — catching problems before they escalate.
- Manage and distribute biological control agents as part of a proactive, integrated strategy that minimizes chemical intervention where possible.
- Schedule pesticide and IPM treatment applications to align with facility operations, coordinating closely with the Director of Cultivation and Operations staff to reduce impact on production timelines.
- Ensure all pesticide applications, equipment use, and staff activity comply with the Worker Protection Standard (WPS), applicable pesticide label requirements, and all Federal, State, and local regulations.
- Maintain detailed, accurate compliance documentation including both physical on-site application records and digital commercial records — audit-ready at all times.
- Keep IPM supplies — pesticides, adjuvants, PPE, and application equipment — inventoried, organized, and replenished ahead of operational needs.
- Inspect, clean, and maintain all IPM application equipment and related infrastructure on a regular basis.
- Support Worker Protection Standard (WPS) pesticide safety training for facility staff as needed.
- Participate in IPM-related cultivation tasks and contribute to research and development projects as directed.
- Oversee the respiratory protection program for your team.
Fertigation & Environmental Systems
- Oversee the preparation and mixing of fertilizer batches, ensuring accurate measurements, proper sequencing of inputs, and thorough documentation of all batch ingredients for compliance purposes.
- Test all fertigation batches prior to application to verify they meet established SOP specifications for EC, pH, and nutrient profile.
- Sample and log final feed delivered to each grow room, tracking consistency and flagging any deviations for immediate correction.
- Maintain the fertigation system in peak operating condition through routine cleaning, calibration, and preventive maintenance. Identify and address issues before they affect crop performance.
- Manage fertilizer inventory levels — tracking usage, forecasting needs, and placing orders to ensure uninterrupted supply.
- Utilize and manage the environmental control and fertigation management system for data monitoring, program adjustments, and record keeping.
- Serve as an internal resource for training other staff members on fertigation systems, environmental monitoring tools, and proper protocols.
- Assist with light, soil, water, and fertility management as needed to support overall plant health and production goals.
- Basic understanding of crop steering principles and the ability to demonstrate the application of these principles in cannabis cultivation.
Team Leadership & Compliance
- Directly supervise IPM Technicians — assigning daily and weekly tasks, overseeing time clock accuracy, and ensuring the team executes assigned work completely and on schedule.
- Provide structured on-the-job training and ongoing development guidance to IPM Technicians, setting clear expectations and building team competency over time.
- Conduct formal performance reviews and deliver constructive feedback; administer disciplinary action when necessary, in coordination with the Director of Cultivation.
- Maintain ongoing compliance with all Federal, State, and company regulations, policies, and procedures — proactively identifying gaps and implementing corrective action.
- Log all relevant IPM and fertigation activity in facility systems, ensuring records are complete, accurate, and accessible for internal and regulatory review.
- Report to the Director of Cultivation on a regular basis, surfacing issues, providing status updates, and contributing to broader cultivation strategy discussions.
- Take on additional responsibilities as the role and facility operations evolve.
