Serene Oral Surgery is a leading-edge, technology-based oral surgery center in Hattiesburg, MS.
The Surgical and Sterilization Technician is responsible for effectively managing the sterilization process to ensure consistency in sterilization practices. This role is also responsible for assisting in the care of patients in the operating room and performing technical duties to ensure outstanding patient outcomes.

· Operates all required equipment and machinery accurately and safely, prepares, assembles, and sterilizes instruments and supplies according to parameters of sterilization in accordance with The Department of Health, OSHA, CDC, ADA, and OMS standards.
· Accurately handles and cares for instruments appropriately, including appropriate selection of cleaning agents, lubricants, examination for function, identification, and assembly.
· Prepares for sterilization; retrieves malfunctioning instruments and ensures repairs are completed.
· Correctly utilize peel-packs supplies/instruments, wraps instruments for sterilization, inspect each instrument for use, function, completeness, and cleanliness.
· Is responsible for reporting damaged or malfunctioning equipment to leadership.
· Performs sterilization testing as required.
· Cleans medical equipment as required.
· Assists with cleaning rooms and setting up for next patient.
· Assists with medical supplies laundry as needed and stocking rooms as necessary.
· Prepare room for surgical procedures, assembles supplies, instruments, and equipment.
· Assist in clean-up of rooms between procedures and at the end of the schedule.
· Proactively ensure appropriate materials, guide stents, prostheses, etc. are present for upcoming cases.
· Maintain inventory and ordering clinical supplies and materials.
· Reports to supervisor any unusual occurrences, breaks in technique, malfunctioning equipment, any unsafe condition or potential hazard
· Knowledge of dental implant planning, procedures, and restoration
· Performs related responsibilities as required or directed.
Qualifications
· Surgical technician course completion or its equivalent
· Comfortable with learning technology
· Strong and effective communication skills
· Strong critical thinking skills
· Strong interpersonal skills to establish and maintain positive working relationship with staff
· Able to perform calmly in emergency situations and high stress scenarios
· Able to lift 20 pounds.
· Certified in CPR

Pay: $10.00 - $16.00 per hour
