Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Machinist Tool Maker to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for fabricating, and maintaining precision tools, jigs, fixtures, and molds that are essential for producing high-quality components. Your expertise in machining processes and technical drawing interpretation will ensure that all tooling meets exact specifications, supporting efficient production workflows. Responsibilities
- Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints to create precise tooling and fixtures using CAD software such as AutoCAD, Esprit, and Fusion.
- Program CNC machines, including CNC lathe and CNC milling machines, to produce complex components with high accuracy.
- Operate and set up electrical discharge machining (EDM) equipment for detailed metal fabrication tasks.
- Fabricate tooling parts through welding, stamping press operations, and other fabrication techniques while adhering to safety standards.
- Use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, dial gauges, and gauges to verify dimensions and ensure quality control.
- Maintain detailed documentation of machining processes, schematics, and inspection reports for traceability.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to develop prototypes and troubleshoot tooling issues during production runs.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Machinist Tool Maker or similar role within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience operating CNC lathe, CNC milling machines, and manual hand tools.
- Proficiency in CAD software (Fusion, AutoCAD) and CAM programming for CNC machine setup.
- Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) standards to ensure precise manufacturing tolerances.
- Experience with electrical discharge machining (EDM), plastics injection molding tooling, and fabrication techniques such as welding.
- Familiarity with schematics, electrical diagrams, and assembly instructions for complex machinery.
- Ability to interpret math principles essential for precision machining and tooling design.
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to use precision measuring instruments accurately.
