American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Telemetry position in an IMC Cardiovascular unit, requiring at least 1 year of related nursing experience and active BLS and ACLS certifications.

Located in an Intermediate Care (IMC) Cardiovascular unit — not a stepdown unit
-
Patient population consists of cardiac and telemetry patients

Nurse-to-patient ratio of 5:1–6:1 depending on staffing

Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
-
Every other weekend required
-
No on-call responsibilities
-
13-week contract with potential for temp-to-perm conversion
-
Active RN license in Louisiana or a compact state currently in hand

Current BLS certification from the AHA required

Current ACLS certification from the AHA required
-
Minimum 1 year of experience in a related nursing specialty
-
SSN required for consideration

Provides nursing care utilizing the full nursing process — assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation — for assigned patients
-
Administers medications and treatments per protocol, monitoring for side effects and treatment effectiveness

Addresses complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
-
Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided
-
Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members, and caregivers
-
All newly hired RNs must attend New Nurse Orientation within the first 30 days

New hires are precepted by a designated trained staff member with competency validation completed at the bedside

BSN preferred but not required

Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for travel rates — local candidates are not accepted unless the position explicitly states otherwise
