Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Cardiovascular Technician to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of cardiovascular procedures, with expertise in interventional radiology, cardiac catheterization, and telemetry monitoring. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to advanced diagnostic and therapeutic interventions in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment. The Cardiovascular Technician will play a vital role in supporting cardiology teams by performing diagnostic evaluations, assisting with procedures, and ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout their care journey.
Duties
- Prepare and operate specialized equipment for cardiovascular procedures including cardiac catheterization, interventional radiology, and sonography.
- Assist physicians during complex interventions such as Fistulagrams, angioplasty, stent placements, and other minimally invasive procedures within the cath lab.
- Monitor patients’ vital signs continuously, maintaining accurate documentation of physiological data during procedures and in telemetry units.
- Ensure strict adherence to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols to maintain a sterile environment during invasive procedures.
- Conduct diagnostic evaluations by acquiring high-quality imaging and physiological data to support clinical decision-making.
- Maintain detailed records of procedures, patient responses, and equipment usage in compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including emergency medicine staff and trauma specialists to provide timely support in Level I Trauma Center settings.
- Demonstrate proficiency in anatomy knowledge, physiology principles, and medical terminology to effectively interpret clinical data and assist with emergency interventions.
Requirements
- Certification as a Cardiovascular Technician or equivalent credential from an accredited program.
- Proven experience working within a cath lab environment, preferably at a Level II or Level I Trauma Center.
- Strong knowledge of interventional cardiology practices, including cardiac catheterization techniques and interventional radiology procedures.
- Familiarity with telemetry monitoring systems and the ability to interpret vital signs accurately.
- In-depth understanding of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and diagnostic evaluation methods related to cardiovascular health.
- Experience with sonography techniques used for cardiovascular imaging is highly desirable.
- Ability to perform under pressure in emergency medicine scenarios while maintaining professionalism and attention to detail.
