Job Overview
Jonas Corporation, a plastics manufacturing firm, is seeking a knowledgeable and experienced plastic Injection Molding Process Engineer to join our highly dynamic team at our Savannah, Georgia facility! As an Injection Molding Process Engineer, you will fill a critical role on our engineering and maintenance team, responsible for ensuring optimal equipment performance while leading the launch of new products, equipment, materials, and systems. In addition, our Injection Molding Process Engineers work closely with other functional departments to coach others and improve production efficiency while ensuring consistently high-quality products.
Responsibilities
- Directly responsible for achieving optimal injection molding cycle times, top-notch quality, and equipment uptime optimization.
- Aid in the planning and execution of the production schedule by guiding with insights on machinery, molds, materials, and process constraints.
- Execute root cause analysis and solution implementation for issues escalated by production during manufacturing.
- Develop and maintain records of molding process sheets, standard equipment procedures, preventative maintenance plans, and other technical documentation.
- Lead and support special projects such as manufacturing equipment implementation, new product development, material trialing, and existing mold improvements.
- Promote a culture of safety, environmental awareness, good housekeeping, and 6S.
- Other technical or shop floor related duties and responsibilities may be required as necessary.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Plastics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field is required.
- Certifications related to RJG, Lean, Six Sigma, or other technical disciplines are a plus.
- 4+ years as a process engineer within a plastic injection molding environment or other equivalent technical role is required.
- Experience with large injection machine tonnages, various polymer materials, secondary facility equipment, and automated robotics / machine controls are all highly desired.
- Should be able to communicate clearly and coach other technical and non-technical staff while maintaining a positive, respectful attitude.
- Must be able to complete tasks that require pushing, pulling, reaching, handling, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Must be comfortable working in an indoor manufacturing environment with exposure to various elements of heat, cold, noise, and dust.

Base Pay: From $80,000.00 per year
