About the Role
We are seeking dependable, customer-focused Private Drivers to provide safe, reliable transportation for older adults and individuals who may need additional support during their trips. This role goes beyond traditional rideshare driving by emphasizing professionalism, patience, and exceptional customer service.
Our goal is to help clients maintain their independence while ensuring they feel comfortable, supported, and respected throughout their journey. The ideal candidate enjoys working with older adults, takes pride in delivering a high-quality experience, and is interested in growing with an expanding transportation program.
This is a new and evolving role with opportunities to expand into additional service offerings over time.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide safe, reliable transportation to appointments, errands, social activities, and other destinations.
- Arrive on time and maintain clear communication regarding ride status and arrival times.
- Assist passengers with entering and exiting the vehicle when appropriate.
- Maintain a clean, well-kept, and professional vehicle at all times.
- Deliver exceptional customer service and create a welcoming, supportive experience for riders.
- Follow all traffic laws and operate the vehicle safely.
- Report ride completion and any concerns through established procedures.
- Maintain professionalism, discretion, and respect for client privacy.
Future Growth Opportunities
As our transportation services expand, drivers may have the opportunity to provide additional support services, including:
- Elbow assist and mobility support
- Companion transportation
- Personal errands and shopping assistance
- Personal assistant support
- Extended wait-and-return services
Candidates should be comfortable with the possibility of taking on these additional responsibilities as the program grows.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Reliable, clean, and well-maintained personal vehicle.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Comfortable interacting with and assisting older adults.
- Professional, dependable, and punctual.
- Ability to provide a high-touch service experience that goes beyond standard rideshare expectations.
- Smartphone with the ability to receive ride assignments and communicate with the team.
- Ability and willingness to pass a background check.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous rideshare driving experience (Uber, Lyft, etc.).
- Experience as a private driver, chauffeur, transportation provider, or companion driver.
- Experience working with older adults, individuals with disabilities, or in customer-facing service roles.
Contractor Onboarding Process
Selected candidates will complete the following onboarding steps:
- Application Submission
- Phone or Video Interview
- Checkr Background Check
- Gusto Contractor Onboarding
- Independent Contractor Agreement (1099)
Scheduling
- Rides are typically scheduled and assigned 1–2 days in advance.
- Drivers have the flexibility to accept available assignments based on their availability.
- Opportunities may increase as the program expands.
Boundaries
- Drivers are not expected to provide personal care services unless specifically trained and approved for future expanded service offerings.
- This position is performed as an independent contractor (1099). Contractors are responsible for completing a W-9 and managing their own taxes and expenses.
