Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and customer-oriented Service Writer to join our team. As a Service Writer, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and ensuring the smooth flow of operations in our automotive service department. Your primary role will be to communicate with customers, accurately transmit their service requests to our technicians, and ensure timely completion of repairs.
Duties:
- Greet customers and provide a warm welcome to the service department
- Listen attentively to customer concerns and accurately document their service requests
- Communicate effectively with customers, providing updates on the status of their vehicle repairs
- Transmit service requests to the appropriate service technicians or departments
- Coordinate with service technicians to ensure timely completion of repairs
- Provide accurate estimates for repair costs and obtain customer approval before proceeding with any additional work
- Assist in scheduling appointments and managing the service department's workflow
- Maintain detailed records of customer interactions, repair orders, and invoices
- Address customer inquiries and resolve any issues or complaints in a professional manner
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a similar role as a Service Writer or in automotive customer service is preferred
- Knowledge of automotive diagnostics, auto body repair, auto estimating, or air brake systems is a plus
- Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with customers and service technicians
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient computer skills for data entry and record keeping
- Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to providing exceptional service

The Advisor Position has a Pay Scale consisting of the following elements and ranges. Wages include Base Hourly Compensation of between $16.00 and $16.50
