About Us
Hudson Valley Swim has been teaching students of all ages how to swim safely and confidently for over 20 years. Our mission is simple: Swim Lessons Save Lives.
We are opening our first Hudson Valley Swim franchise location in New Jersey and are hiring a dedicated Lead Swim Instructor to help launch the program. This role begins with a three-day training at our New York headquarters to learn our curriculum and teaching methods before the program opens.
The Role
As Lead Instructor, you’ll guide students through every stage of learning, while also helping to shape the program and train future instructors as we grow. This is a career role designed to develop into a full-time leadership position as enrollment expands
Schedule & Availability
- Weekdays: Approximately 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM
- Weekends: 1 weekend shift is required – Saturday or Sunday 9am-2pm
- Hours expand as classes grow
Responsibilities
- Teach swim lessons to students of all ages and skill levels (starting at 4 months through adults)
- Provide a safe, structured, and encouraging environment for students and families
- Track student progress and communicate effectively with parents/guardians
- Maintain high instructional standards to support program growth
- Mentor and train future instructors as the location expands
Additional Opportunities May Include:
- Administrative support (answering phones, scheduling, light sales/booking prospective clients, email correspondence)
- Community marketing (attending local events to represent Hudson Valley Swim)
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of swim instruction experience
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; able to connect with students, parents, and teammates while remaining dependable and professional
- Availability for weekday evenings and weekend day shifts
- Ability to complete three-day HQ training in New York prior to opening
Preferred
- Lifeguard / CPR / First Aid certification
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
- Experience teaching infants, young children, adults, and special needs swimmers

Pay: $20.00 - $21.00 per hour
