American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with 2+ years of critical care experience and prior travel experience for a night shift hospital assignment.

12-week assignment length

Night shift, 3x12 hours (18:30-7:00)
-
Every other weekend required
-
No on-call requirements
-
Floating within facility and scope of practice as needed
-
Works in Adult Critical Care and Emergency Department settings
-
Performs ventilator management including BiPAP, CPAP, weaning from mechanical ventilation, and troubleshooting high pressure alarms
-
Performs airway management including extubation, nasal/oral airway placement, and oral/nasal suctioning
-
Administers medications via aerosol setups, MDI, and various respiratory medications
-
Performs tracheostomy care/management and sputum specimen collection
-
Utilizes High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC) and oxygen therapy
-
Epic charting system experience preferred
-
Minimum 2 years of experience required
-
Prior travel experience required
-
BLS and PALS certifications required
-
RRT certification required
-
License required if applicable
-
Teaching hospital experience preferred
-
Community hospital experience preferred
-
Trauma Level I and II experience preferred
-
CRT certification not accepted
-
First-time travelers will not be considered for this position

Candidates must be reviewed by clinical team to determine fit prior to manager review

Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, must be finalized at time of submission
-
No RTO or schedule requests permitted after offer or onsite, or during orientation week
-
If one or two major holidays fall during the assignment, no holiday RTO can be requested
-
If three major holidays fall during the assignment, one holiday RTO request may be considered
-
Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, and New Year's Eve/Day

Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate

Full compliance required to start on time; non-compliance may result in a two-week delay due to bi-weekly orientation scheduling

Previous perm, per diem, or FCSS employees must be away from all facilities within the health system for one full year before applying as a traveler
-
Travelers who were previously cancelled or given a do-not-return must complete one assignment outside the health system before reapplying
