The DeKalb County Health Department is seeking a part-time receptionist. The receptionist will greet, assist and provide direction and information to clients and visitors of the Health Department. The position is 20 hours per week, on a flexible schedule, which may be adjusted as needed.
Responsibilities
- Welcomes clients and visitors by greeting in person and on the telephone, answering questions and referring questions to other staff members.
- Maintains reception area in a neat and orderly condition.
- Receives mail, documents, packages and courier deliveries and distributes items.
- Performs routine clerical tasks and other duties as assigned.
- Process walk-in birth certificate requests.
Requirements
- Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with the public and employees.
- Basic word processing, spreadsheet and database skills.
- Ability to think critically and multi-task.
- Dependable and responsible.
- High School graduate or equivalent required.
- English/Spanish bilingual required.
- Must be 18 years of age.
- Must pass a background check.
