Nursing Assistant Job Description
Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated CNA to join our team at Special Graces. We are a HCS (Home and Community-based Services) provider located in Pearland. This position will be located in a group home setting, providing care for 3 male special need individuals. One individual is in a wheelchair (weight is about 110 pounds) and lifting is required. A strong understanding of medical terminology, physiology, and critical care practices is essential for success in this position.
Work Schedule
- 3:00pm Friday until 9:00am Monday (Live-In weekend) This means you would come in on Friday at 3:00pm and stay until Monday at 9:00am. There is a staff bedroom in the home for sleep hours.
Compensation
- $1,896 gross pay bi-weekly (every other Friday)
Duties
- Assist clients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Monitor and record vital signs as needed.
- Provide catheter care (for 1 individual) and change ileostomy bag as needed (For 1 individual)
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients, adhering to infection control protocols.
- Collaborate with nurses and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Document patient progress and report any changes in condition to the nursing team.
- Work with clients on learning goals/objectives.
- Prepare meals, administer medications, and perform cleaning duties in group home.
Requirements
- Knowledge of physiology and medical terminology is essential.
- Experience with catheter care and ileostomy bag care preferred.
- Previous experience in a group home setting is a plus.
- Ability to perform catheter care competently.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
- Compassionate demeanor with a genuine desire to help others.
- NO FELONIES
- Must be a certified CNA
- Must have at least 3-5 years of experience working with special need individuals.
