Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice was founded by community volunteers in 1983 as a nonprofit organization, we are honored to be a leading provider of Hospice and Palliative care in South Central and Southeast Kansas. Having served more than 40,000 patients and family members, we are experts in specialized care designed to provide support to you and your loved ones during an advanced illness. Our team of professionals, including a medical director, nurses, hospice aides, social workers, and volunteers, work in coordination with the patient’s physician to provide pain and symptom management, as well as social and spiritual support.
Summary
Community Liaison is responsible for developing professional relationships with physicians, physician offices, clinics, hospitals, senior retirement communities, skilled nursing facilities, and other community referral sources. Liaison works within an assigned territory to promote our agency and our services. Liaison executes territory sales plans to ensure extraordinary customer service and fulfill Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice exceptional care expectations.
Responsibilities
Establishes and maintains positive business relationships with community partners. Identifies key accounts and develops a targeted marketing approach.
Focuses on census development with assigned accounts.
Promotes and demonstrates exemplary customer service to physicians, facility personnel, and clients and other key customers.
Actively participates in business development meetings, brings relevant data, reports, as well as updates on changes within accounts and referral sources. · Follows up on all referrals within their assigned territories not admitted to the program
Follows up on live discharges within their assigned territories.
Works closely with identified referral sources in assigned facilities to ensure eligible patients who need hospice receive it in a timely manner.
Provides informational visits with patients and families. Meet with families to determine care needs and help facilitate hospice referrals.
Participates in community activities, sponsored activities, and vendor fairs (may include some evenings and weekends).
Acts as a liaison between external and internal customers. Identifies referral-related issues and performs follow-up. ·
Creates and maintains a close working relationship with Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice clinical team and outside partners.
Presents features and benefits of our agency, asking probing questions, listening to service issues, handling objections, asking for the business.
Assists with development of market and companywide specific growth strategies.
Performs other related duties as directed by supervisor.
Qualifications, Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Knowledge of sales techniques and market analysis with a strong desire to meet and exceed goals.
Knowledge and working ability in Office Suite.
Communicates accurately and effectively both orally and in writing.
90% local travel necessary daily.
Minimum two (2) years’ experience in marketing, business development or sales with emphasis on experience in similar industry or market segment is preferred.
Self-directed and able to work with minimal supervision.
Demonstrates excellent observation and problem-solving competency.
Ability to establish, facilitate, and maintain excellent working relationships between assigned accounts and the hospice team.
Able to maintain poise and demeanor and to exhibit professionalism.
Ability to organize and prioritize workload independently.
Current Valid Driver’s License and current auto insurance required.
Prolonged walking, standing, or sitting. Able to lift, position, and/or transfer patients. Able to lift supplies and equipment. Considerable reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, and/or crouching.
