Remodeling & Renovation Technician / Handyman (W-2, Full-Time) Company: Make Ready Repairs LLC Location: Lawton, OK — In Person (rental homes across Lawton and surrounding area) Job Type: Full-time, W-2 (Monday-Friday) Pay: Based on experience and skill — discussed during phone screenAbout Us
Make Ready Repairs LLC renovates, repairs, and maintains single-family rental homes. We are expanding our operations in Lawton, OK, and are known for clean, professional work and reliable turnaround.
About the Role
We are hiring a full-time Remodeling & Renovation Technician / Handyman to take care of our rental homes in the Lawton area — full remodels, make-ready turns, and routine maintenance. This is a W-2 position (taxes withheld, steady paycheck, paid holidays — not a 1099 gig).
This is heavy, hands-on, independent work. We need someone who can gut a kitchen or bath and rebuild it, install flooring and tile, finish drywall and paint, pull a trailer to the landfill, and turn a beat-up house into a clean, rent-ready property. No hand-holding — you'll walk into a job, size up what it needs, and get it done.
We are looking for someone who is reliable, hardworking, and brings real hands-on remodeling experience across more than one trade.
What You Will Do
- Remodeling & renovation: kitchens, baths, full-room remodels — flooring (LVP/tile/laminate), cabinets, countertops, fixtures, trim, and finish work
- Demolition & trashouts: clear out junk, debris, and old materials; gut rooms down to studs when needed
- Hauling: load debris, pull a trailer, and make landfill/dump runs
- Make-ready turns: patch and paint, repair flooring, replace fixtures, punch-list, and final rent-ready prep
- Routine maintenance: plumbing, basic electrical, doors, locks, windows, and general repairs
- Drywall: hang, tape, float, and texture-match repairs
- Diagnose what a house needs and complete the work efficiently and correctly
- Pick up materials from suppliers (Home Depot, Lowe's, local supply) as needed
- Document before/after photos and report status on each property
- Keep job sites clean and organized
Requirements
- Must be 18 years or older
- 3+ years of hands-on remodeling/renovation experience — kitchens, baths, flooring, drywall, finish work
- Strong skills across multiple trades — carpentry, flooring/tile, drywall, paint, basic plumbing and electrical
- Experience with demolition and trashouts
- Able to tow and back a trailer and make landfill/dump runs
- Able to work independently and run a job from start to finish without daily supervision
- Must own your own truck and tools
- Able to do heavy physical work — lift materials, climb ladders, work overhead
- Valid driver's license and reliable personal vehicle required (with a clean driving record)
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen — drug-free workplace
- Must be reliable, punctual, and honest
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
This Job Is Not For You If
- You only do light handyman work and can't run a full remodel
- You can't tow a trailer or handle demolition and hauling
- You need constant supervision or direction
- You are not reliable, show up late, or leave jobs half-finished
Compensation & Growth
- Pay based on experience and skill — we will discuss your pay expectation during the phone screen
- W-2 employment — taxes withheld, steady paycheck, year-round work (not 1099)
- Advancement opportunities for reliable workers who consistently deliver quality work
- The chance to grow with us as we expand in the Lawton market
Benefits
- 6 paid holidays per year (New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas)
- Steady, consistent year-round work
- Opportunities for advancement
- Professional development assistance
