Job Overview
C&H Restoration and Renovation is seeking a reliable, independent, skilled craftsperson with experience in all phases of residential remodeling work. We primarily work in older Baltimore homes, including areas such as Bolton Hill, Mount Vernon, and Federal Hill.
The ideal candidate can work through problems in older houses, communicate clearly, and complete detailed work without needing constant supervision. This position is best suited for someone with real remodeling experience, good judgment, and pride in high-quality finish work.
Primary Responsibilities
· Perform residential remodeling and repair work in older homes
· Handle carpentry tasks including demolition, framing, trim, door and window work, cabinetry installation, and floor patching
· Read and work from floor plans, sketches, field notes, and verbal instructions
· Lay out work accurately and solve field conditions as they come up
· Maintain tools, materials, and work areas in an organized and professional manner
· Communicate progress, issues, schedule impacts, and material needs to the supervisor
· Coordinate respectfully with other trades and homeowners when needed
· Complete work with attention to detail, cleanliness, and craftsmanship
Required Experience and Skills
· Prior carpentry or residential remodeling experience
· Ability to work independently and complete tasks in a timely manner
· Experience working through and problem-solving the irregular conditions often found in Baltimore homes
· Ability to communicate clearly about schedule, materials, site conditions, and next steps
· Self-motivated work style with an eye for detail
· Must have reliable transportation and tools
Preferred Experience
· Carpentry experience including: Rough framing, trim, cabinetry install, door/window install
· Drywall patching, painting, tile, flooring, hardware, and appliance installation
· Understanding of plumbing and electrical coordination, even if not performing licensed work
· Experience working in occupied homes and maintaining clean, respectful jobsites
